From time to time, hybrid platforms have been growing in the market as their performance has improved. With some difficult beginnings, webapps were no more than responsive web pages whose interfaces were able to be adapted for the use of a small screen.

Fortunately, all this is behind us and the ineffective transitions and those which came in fits and starts have given way to a well-developed design with very respectable results.

Ionic

Ionic is an open source SDK based on Angular2 and Apache Cordova. Developed with jQuery Mobil and Bootstrap, it is the most commonly used in the hybrid apps market. It is fully compatible for publication in the app store of the corresponding destination platform.

Of the hybrid platforms is the most well-crafted. Its functions are more advanced and the final look of its applications is much cleaner. It makes use of TypeScript, a typified language product by Microsoft, derived from JavaScript but which makes use of class objects.

Phonegap

Phonegap is more rudimentary, does not use its own tools and is left with JavaScript for the backend, and HTML + CSS3 for the presentation part or frontend. No less powerful, it is the best alternative to Ionic in hybrid platforms with good results.

It’s the closest to Apache Crodova, in fact the only thing which differentiates them is that Phonegap has computing capabilities for the cloud provided by Adobe Creative Cloud.

In short, they are two very similar frameworks that rely on the great power of the HTML engine with the latest generation terminals and that certainly get results that make you hesitate to opt for native applications.

Even so, they will always remain option B against the native applications of each platform.
